App Development Cost in India 2026 | Tiers and Prices

App development cost in India 2026 with mobile platforms, backend systems and package tiers

Published 3 October 2026.

An app from us costs between ₹75,000 and ₹2,99,000 plus GST, in four published tiers, and the price follows what the app has to do, not how many screens it has. The cheapest tier is a progressive web app. The most expensive adds native iOS and Android, ERP or CRM integration and a dedicated testing cycle.

If you searched for “how much does it cost to build an app in India”, the short answer is that nobody can quote you fairly from a screen count. They can quote you from a feature list. The tiers below are the ones on our mobile app development page, and every number in this post comes from that page or from the app-store owners’ own pages.

The four prices and what each one adds

Tier Price (plus GST) Platform Screens What it adds
Launch ₹75,000 Progressive web app Up to 8 core screens Installs to the home screen, works offline for core flows, analytics set up
Standard (most chosen) ₹1,49,999 PWA or a single platform Up to 15 screens Everything in Launch, plus a backend, admin panel and user accounts, push notifications, payment gateway integration
Advanced ₹2,29,999 iOS and Android Not stated on the page Everything in Standard, plus a native build, App Store and Play Store submission, role-based access, third-party API integrations
Custom From ₹2,99,000 Scoped individually Scoped individually Everything in Advanced, plus ERP or CRM integration, offline-first sync, custom modules and configurators, a dedicated QA cycle

The steps between tiers are worth reading as arithmetic. Standard costs ₹74,999 more than Launch. Advanced costs ₹80,000 more than Standard. Custom starts ₹69,001 above Advanced, and that is a starting point, not a ceiling.

Every tier includes design in Figma or Adobe XD before build, 30 days of support after launch, and code and store accounts in your name. More on those further down.

Why the price follows features, not screens

Ten screens that show a product catalogue are a small job. Ten screens that need a login, a payment, a notification and a record that survives a phone losing signal are a large one. The screens look the same in a design file. The work behind them does not.

That is why the tiers are drawn around capabilities. A backend stores your data. An admin panel lets your team change it without calling a developer. User accounts and roles decide who sees what. Payments, push notifications, third-party integrations and offline sync each add work that no screen count captures.

So when you ask anyone for a price, give them a list of what the app must do, in plain sentences, before you give them a number of screens.

Most app projects fail on the backend

We say this on the app page and we stand by it: most app projects fail on the backend, not the interface. The interface is the part you can see in a demo. The backend is the part that has to keep working when two hundred people use it on a weak connection, when a payment fails halfway, or when your team changes a price at four in the evening.

This is the reason Standard exists as its own step. Launch gives you something that installs, opens and works for core flows. Standard is where the app starts to hold your customers’ data and take their money, and that is where we spend the extra ₹74,999.

If your idea needs accounts, payments or an admin panel, do not start at Launch to save money. You will pay for Launch, find the gap in month two, and then pay for Standard.

PWA, single platform or native on both

A progressive web app is one codebase that runs in the browser, installs to the home screen and works offline. There is no store approval, no 30% platform cut, and updates reach users the moment we push them. We built Plated, a calorie tracker for Indian food, as a PWA, and it is the app we show as our own work.

A single-platform app, which Standard allows, is built for iOS or for Android, not both. You choose the one your customers use most.

A native build for both is the Advanced tier. We build in React Native, or natively where performance demands it. Native earns its price when the app needs the device: camera, background location, health data, push at scale, or offline-first sync. If it does not need any of those, a PWA is the cheaper and faster route, and we will say so in the first conversation.

Two terms on the page sound alike and are not. Launch “works offline for core flows”. Custom adds “offline-first sync”. We read the first as the main screens still opening without a connection, and the second as a heavier job where data changed offline has to merge back into the server. Ask any team, including us, to define both in the proposal.

App-store fees are separate

The tier prices do not include store fees, and we do not mark them up. Apple charges 99 USD a year for a developer account, and Google charges a one-off 25 USD. We checked both against the owners’ own pages on 3 October 2026. Apple’s enrolment page gives the Apple Developer Program fee as 99 USD a year, in local currency where available[1]. Google’s Play Console help gives a one-time registration fee of US$25[2]. Both match our page.

Because Apple prices in local currency where available, the rupee amount on your card can differ from a straight conversion. Check it at sign-up.

You pay these directly, into accounts in your own name. A PWA does not need either, which is one more reason Launch is cheap.

What every tier includes before and after the build

Design is signed off before development starts. You see every screen in Figma or Adobe XD and approve it, and changes after sign-off are the expensive ones, so this is where you should spend your attention.

Testing happens on real devices, not only in simulators. A simulator will not show you how the app behaves on a mid-range Android phone on a weak connection, and that is the phone many of your users hold.

Code and store accounts stay in your name. You do not rent your app from us. If you part ways with an agency, which can happen, you walk away with the code and the accounts.

30 days of support, and what happens after

Every tier includes 30 days of support after launch. That window is for bugs in what we built and for the first real-world surprises, which always arrive in the first fortnight.

After day 30, support and maintenance are a separate conversation. Our page says we provide maintenance, but we have not published a price for it, and we will not invent one here. It depends on the app. Ask for it in writing before you sign, not after launch.

What is not included

  • GST, which is added to every price above.
  • The Apple and Google developer fees, paid directly by you.
  • Anything above the screen counts of Launch (8) and Standard (15). Advanced and Custom are scoped to the brief.
  • Integrations and modules that sit in a higher tier. ERP or CRM integration, for example, starts at Custom.
  • Marketing the app. We do app store optimisation and install campaigns, but they are not in these prices, and our performance marketing page covers how paid work is billed.
  • Hosting and third-party service charges. No tier lists them as included, so ask what your app will cost to run each month.

Which tier to start with

Start with Launch if the app shows information and handles a few core actions, and nobody needs to log in. A catalogue, a calculator or a tracker fits.

Start with Standard if people need accounts, if you take payments, or if your team needs to manage content in an admin panel. We mark it “most chosen” on the package page.

Go to Advanced when your customers are on both iPhone and Android and you need the stores, or when roles and third-party integrations matter. Go to Custom when the app has to talk to your ERP or CRM.

If a website would do the job, it will cost less. Our website design cost guide lays out those prices, and our web application development page covers browser-based tools that are bigger than a website but do not need a store listing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to build an app in India?

From ₹75,000 plus GST for a progressive web app, up to ₹2,99,000 plus GST and more for a custom build. Our four tiers are ₹75,000, ₹1,49,999, ₹2,29,999 and from ₹2,99,000, and the right one depends on what the app has to do. Details are on our app development page.

How much does a mobile app for both iOS and Android cost?

₹2,29,999 plus GST on our Advanced tier. It includes a native iOS and Android build, App Store and Play Store submission, role-based access and third-party API integrations, on top of everything in Standard.

Is a PWA cheaper than a native app?

Yes. Our PWA starts at ₹75,000 plus GST, against ₹2,29,999 for native on both platforms. A PWA installs to the home screen and works offline, with no store approval. Choose native when the app needs the device, such as background location or health data.

Do app-store fees come on top of the app price?

Yes. Apple charges 99 USD a year for a developer account and Google a one-off 25 USD, and you pay both directly. We do not add a margin. A PWA needs neither account.

Does the cost depend on the number of screens?

Not mainly. It depends on what the app has to do: backend, admin panel, user accounts, payments, notifications, integrations and offline sync. Screen caps exist on the two lower tiers, 8 and 15, but the price steps follow capability.

Who owns the code and the store accounts?

You do. Code and store accounts stay in your name on every tier. Design is also signed off by you before development begins.

What happens after the 30 days of support?

Support and maintenance continue as a separate arrangement. We have not published a maintenance price, so ask for it in writing during scoping, before you sign.
