A web developer in the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia metro area earns a mean $51.64 an hour, and a web and digital interface designer earns $48.65 [1]. Those are wages paid to employees, not agency prices. US web design companies typically bill $100 to $149 an hour, according to Clutch’s 2026 pricing guide [6], so our $3,300 corporate website price would cover 22 to 33 hours of a Charlotte agency’s time.
If you searched “charlotte nc web design”, you want a number to budget against. Below, a Charlotte agency sits next to DigiStreet Media, a web design and SEO agency in Noida, India, on price, design, meeting hours, launch speed, SEO, ownership and support, including where a local firm is the smarter hire.
In Charlotte, web designers earn less than web developers
Charlotte’s pay runs the opposite way to the country’s. Across the US, web and digital interface designers earn a mean $56.49 an hour and web developers $47.49, so designers come out $9.00 ahead [2] [3]. In the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia metro area, designers earn $48.65 and developers $51.64. Here the developers are $2.99 ahead.
The metro also has more designers than developers: 1,070 web and digital interface designers against 510 web developers, about 2.1 designers for every developer. The national ratio is about 1.6 (113,330 against 70,190). Charlotte’s 1,070 is more than seven times the 140 designers BLS counts in the Columbia, SC metro area. Graphic designers, 1,640 of them, earn $31.05 an hour here against $33.92 nationally [4].

So Charlotte’s design supply is deep and paid $7.84 an hour under the national mean for the job. Development, the work on templates, forms, integrations and page speed, costs Charlotte employers $4.15 an hour more than the US mean. When a local quote looks high, look at the build hours before the mockups.
Pay inside the designer group is also spread wide. The 10th percentile earns $21.06 an hour and the 90th percentile $78.09, so ask who will actually design your pages.
What $3,300 buys at Charlotte rates
Wages are only part of what an employer pays. In private industry, wages make up 70.0% of the cost of an hour worked and benefits the other 30.0% [5]. If benefits run at that average, a $51.64 developer wage costs a Charlotte employer about $73.77 an hour ($51.64 divided by 0.70), before office, software, sales or profit.
At $73.77, our $3,300 corporate website price pays for about 44.7 hours of one Charlotte developer, at cost, with nothing left for the agency. At Clutch’s agency rate of $100 to $149 an hour it pays for 22 to 33 hours [6].

Clutch puts the average project reviewed on its site at $38,105, with most projects under $10,000 and agencies charging anywhere between $2,000 and $100,000 [6]. That average is about 11.5 times our corporate starting price. Our prices are fixed starting points for a scoped build, not an hourly meter:
| DigiStreet Media build | Starts at | What it adds | Same money at $100 to $149 an hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic website | $1,450 | Responsive layouts, core business pages, a contact path and a CMS handover | About 10 to 14.5 hours |
| B2B website | $2,600 | Product or solution structure, proof, an enquiry or RFQ path and core analytics | About 17.4 to 26 hours |
| Corporate website | $3,300 | Corporate information architecture, reusable CMS components, sections for different stakeholders | About 22 to 33 hours |
| Ecommerce website | $3,700 | Catalogue, product pages, cart, checkout, the agreed payment and shipping setup | About 24.8 to 37 hours |
The final quote follows your page count, features, how ready your content is and any integrations. The full scope of each build is on our website development service page.
With 1,070 designers in the metro, pick on portfolio
Design is where Charlotte buyers have the most local choice, so compare it hard. Open three portfolios on your phone. Check how the menu behaves, how many taps it takes to reach a contact form and whether the case studies name real clients.
Here is ours. Voting Portals, an election-management software company in Florida, has worked with us on website development and SEO for five years. Don Gonzales, their Marketing Head, put it this way: “Over the last five years, Kavish Arora and the team at DigiStreet Media have become an extended part of our marketing team.”

Solomon Cooperman Recondo, a Florida law firm, needed a site that reads as clearly on a phone as on a desk.

Our case studies page has the rest, with client names and figures from their own analytics.

Your Google profile, not your agency’s Charlotte address, drives map rankings
Google’s own help page says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, and that distance means how far your business is from the person searching [9]. Your agency’s location is not part of it. Your Business Profile is, along with your reviews: Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help local ranking.
So the work that moves a Charlotte map listing is a complete, accurate profile, steady reviews and a site whose pages match what people in the metro search for. We do that work under our SEO and digital marketing plans for US companies: Starter $750 a month (30 keywords), Growth $1,100 (50 keywords), Scale $1,850 (80 keywords) and Resource-based $2,950 with two dedicated specialists. AEO and GEO, which cover how your business shows up in AI answers, sit inside every plan.
Calls 8 am to noon Charlotte time, building overnight
Charlotte runs on Eastern time. India runs on Indian Standard Time, UTC+05:30, and does not change its clocks [8]. In 2026, US daylight saving time ends on 1 November [7]. Until then, our 8:00 am to noon Eastern call window is 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm in Noida. From November it is 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
You get four hours of live overlap each weekday. The design and build work happens in the Indian working day, which is your night, so feedback you send at 4 pm can come back as changes before the next morning’s call.
Most business and B2B sites go live in three to four weeks. The range is 14 to 30 days for a website, and about two months for a complex project. What decides the date is mostly how fast your content and approvals come back. Have your page text, logo files and the person who signs off ready before kickoff.
Your name on the domain, hosting and code
The domain, hosting, code and analytics accounts sit in your name. It is written into the proposal before work starts, so changing agencies later costs you a handover, not a rebuild. Ask any Charlotte firm you talk to for the same clause in writing.
After launch, hosting and maintenance start at $300 a month. If you already have a site, we review the pages and entry points that bring visitors today and plan redirects before anything moves.

We have worked for 14+ years on 350+ projects in 15+ countries, and we are rated 4.9 out of 5 from 250+ reviews across Google, Clutch, AmbitionBox and Facebook. Projects are run by Kavish Arora, our Co-Founder and COO.
Three reasons to hire inside Charlotte instead
Hire a local firm if you want in-person workshops with your leadership team, because we will not be in the room. Hire locally if the site needs new photos or video shot at your premises in the Charlotte area. And if your procurement rules say the vendor must be a US company, that settles it.
If none of those apply, our guide on how to choose a web design company lists the questions to put to any agency, including us. Then send us your page list and we will price it in dollars. Get a quote.
