GEO on our own site: 20K impressions in Google’s AI answers, and rising

We sell GEO, so it is fair to ask what our own numbers look like. This is digistreetmedia.com in Search Console. Over the three months to September 2026 the site was shown 20K times inside Google’s generative AI features. That is a small number. The direction is the interesting part.

The shift

An agency site is a hard test

Search for a digital marketing agency and every result is written by people who do this for a living. There are no easy wins, and the questions people ask an AI answer in this category are broad: what does an agency cost, how do I choose one, what is GEO. Thousands of pages compete to answer them.

So we treat our own site as the place where the method has to work before we sell it.

What we did

What we did to our own pages

  • Schema that matches the page. Prices, ratings, FAQs, breadcrumbs and videos are declared in structured data only where a visitor can see the same thing. Our price markup is read from the visible package cards, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • One question, one answer. Service and location pages carry FAQ sections whose wording is identical on the page and in the markup.
  • Numbers with their limits. Case studies and posts name the source, the period, and what the figure does not prove.
  • An llms.txt file listing every public page with a one-line description. It runs to more than 1,100 lines and updates as pages are added.
  • Volume with a floor under it. More than 100 pages and posts went live in September 2026, including service pages for six Gulf markets, and blog posts are held to 1,500 words or more.

What Search Console shows

The Generative AI features report shows 20K impressions for digistreetmedia.com over the last three months, roughly 220 a day. For the first two months the line sat between 100 and 250. In the last three weeks it has run between 200 and 445, with the best day right at the end.

DigiStreet Media GEO Case Study: Google Search Console Generative AI features report showing 20K impressions in three months
Google Search Console, digistreetmedia.com, Generative AI features (Beta). The solid line is the last three months. The dotted line is all the earlier data the report holds.

That climb lands in September, the month we published more than 100 pages. We think the two are connected. We cannot prove it, and three weeks is a short time to call anything a trend.

For scale, the same report shows 237K for a manufacturer we work with and 84.4K for an Ayurveda store: JBM Group → and Pravek Kalp →. An agency is a smaller market than either.

The limits

What the number does not prove

  • 20K against 4.26K is not a fivefold rise. The earlier figure is about one month of data, because the report reaches back roughly four months. Day for day, it is about 130 then and about 220 now.
  • The report gives impressions only. It does not tell us how many enquiries began with an AI answer.
  • The September rise is three weeks old. It could settle lower.
  • We are our own client here, which makes us the least objective judge of this page. The screenshot is included so you can read the line yourself.

Questions we get asked

About this work

Why publish your own numbers when they are small?

Because an agency that sells GEO and hides its own Search Console is asking for trust it has not earned. 20K is small next to a consumer brand. It is also real, and it is going the right way.

What does the Generative AI features report measure?

How often a site is shown inside Google’s generative AI search features. It is a Beta view in Search Console’s Performance report and gives impressions only.

Did your AI impressions really grow five times?

No. Search Console shows 20K against 4.26K, but the earlier total comes from about a month of data. The fair comparison is roughly 130 a day then and roughly 220 a day now.

What is llms.txt and does it work?

It is a plain text file that lists a site’s pages with short descriptions, written for language models to read. We publish one and keep it current. We cannot show that it caused any of these impressions, and we say so when clients ask.

Will the same steps work on my site?

The steps are the same. Matching schema, one clear answer per page, facts with sources. How far they take you depends on how crowded your category is and how much there is to say that nobody else has said.

Want the same check run on your site?

We will look at what Search Console reports for you today and tell you what we would change first.
