By aligning content with trending Indian home aesthetics rather than generic product copy, British Paints grew organic traffic 146% and generated more than 5,000 queries in a single year.
Paint is a visually driven, highly competitive category where most brand content looks broadly similar. Competing on product specification alone offered little differentiation.
The opportunity was in how Indian homeowners actually search: for design ideas, colour combinations and room aesthetics, well before they search for a brand.
Organic visitors grew from 82,265 to 120,773, with engaged sessions up 59%. Growth compounded across the engagement: 100% in the first year, then a further 46% in 2023.
The commercial outcome was more than 5,000 queries in a single year, spanning consumer, distributor and retailer enquiries rather than consumer interest alone.

In design-led categories, the winning content is usually inspiration, not specification.
