Case study · Energy & infrastructure
Jakson Group runs distinct businesses across diesel generation, solar manufacturing, renewables, distributed energy and infrastructure. Each one sells to a different buyer. We built the group site and four business sites to match.

Websites across the group

Distinct business units, each with its own buyer

Shared design and content system
WordPress
Platform across every site
A group site alone cannot sell five different things to five different buyers.
Jakson Group spans diesel generating sets, solar module manufacturing, renewable energy EPC, distributed energy and infrastructure. Someone sourcing TopCon bifacial modules and someone commissioning a BESS installation are not the same buyer, do not search the same terms, and do not need the same proof.
Consolidating all of it onto one corporate site would have meant every business competing for attention on the same pages — and competing with each other in search. Splitting them without a shared system would have meant five sites that looked like five different companies.
The answer was a group site plus four business sites, on one platform, with one design system and separate search territories.
Each one owns its own category, its own vocabulary and its own set of search terms.

Group
Jakson Group
The parent site. Carries the group story, the business portfolio and the corporate credentials, and routes each visitor to the right business.

Manufacturing
Jakson Solar
Solar module manufacturing. Product architecture built around module series and specifications — TopCon bifacial, efficiency classes, rooftop EPC — because that is how technical buyers search.

Renewables
Jakson Green
Clean energy and renewables. A different audience again — developers, funds and government buyers assessing capability at project scale.

Distributed energy
Jakson Distributed Energy
Battery energy storage, solar systems and diesel generating sets for businesses that need power now. Solution-led rather than product-led, because the buyer arrives with a problem.

Infrastructure
Jakson Infrastructure
Projects, presence and people. Built around delivered work and geographic reach, which is what an infrastructure client checks first.
The risk with a group of sites is that they drift — different templates, different tone, different quality, and a search estate that competes with itself.
01
One platform
All five run on WordPress. One stack to maintain, one set of updates, one team able to work across any of them without relearning a system.
02
Shared design language
Common components and typography so the group reads as one organisation, with enough latitude for each business to feel like itself.
03
Separate search territories
Each site owns its own keyword set. Solar module terms live on Jakson Solar, storage terms on Distributed Energy — so the group does not bid against itself in search results.
04
Deliberate interlinking
The group site routes to each business and each business links back. Authority moves through the estate instead of pooling in one place.
Why this matters beyond Jakson. Any group with distinct business units faces the same decision: one site that tries to speak to everyone, or several that each speak to someone. The second is more work and almost always the right answer — provided the platform, design system and search strategy are decided up front rather than site by site.
We will map the estate before anyone designs a page — which businesses need their own site, which share one, and who owns which search terms.
