Case study · BPE · Power & energy
BPE sells uninterruptible power systems, lithium batteries and battery energy storage into data centres, banks, hospitals and factories across 25+ countries. Their website was still selling UPS units to households. We rebuilt it — design, build and copy — around the enterprise buyer, and moved it off WordPress to make it fast.

BPE has been building power infrastructure since 2000. The website had not kept up with what the company had become.

The old site opened with a badge celebrating twenty-six years and a line about being a “specialist in energy performance”. Below that sat market segments including Home Office, and the page title read “Buy UPS Online for Home & Office — UPS for TV and WiFi”.
Meanwhile the actual business was selling modular UPS in the hundreds of kVA, lithium battery banks and complete battery energy storage systems into data centres and BFSI. A procurement engineer landing on a page about backing up a television has already decided you are not the supplier.
It was a WordPress site, and it was slow — which for a company whose entire proposition is uptime is an unfortunate first impression.
Same company, two completely different propositions. The change is positioning first and design second.

What actually changed in the copy. The old site led with how long BPE had existed. The new one leads with what BPE does and for whom: reliable, intelligent, scalable power systems for industries where continuity is critical. Twenty-six years is a supporting fact, not a headline.
The platform decision was made for one reason: the site had to be fast, and it had to stay fast without a maintenance retainer.
Platform
The previous site was WordPress and slow. Every plugin added weight, and page speed on a site whose product is uptime is not a cosmetic issue. We rebuilt it in Webflow, on a CDN, with no plugin stack to degrade over time.
Performance
The hero is video, which is normally where performance dies. Compressed and served from the CDN, the page still returns in under four seconds and scores 70+ on Google PageSpeed.
Commerce
Webflow e-commerce handles the direct-sales side — product pages, cart, orders and store policies — so the enterprise site and the transactional store are one system rather than two.
Structure
Modular UPS across six series, lithium batteries, BESS, active power filters, grid-tied inverters and accessories. Structured so a specification-led buyer can get to a product without going through sales.
Segmentation
Separate paths for data centre, BFSI, healthcare, industrial manufacturing and critical infrastructure. The same UPS is a different argument to a bank than to a factory.
Content
We wrote the positioning and page copy. Enterprise power buyers read for capability, compliance and continuity — not for adjectives.
Three of the templates: the store, a solution page and the group solutions overview.

Bounce rate
Down from the previous site. On a technical catalogue, bounce is the clearest signal that the visitor found the right company.

Google PageSpeed on a page carrying a full-width video hero, which is where most sites lose the score entirely.

What we did not do. SEO was not in this scope — we were engaged for design, build and copy. We are showing what we were responsible for, and nothing else.
Most of what makes an industrial website work has nothing to do with how it looks.
Audience
Somebody specifying a 500 kVA UPS for a data centre is checking capability, certification and support before they look at anything else. Design earns attention; specification earns the enquiry.
Credibility
If you sell continuity and your site takes eight seconds, you have argued against yourself before the copy loads. It is the one quality signal a visitor tests without meaning to.
Focus
Trying to serve a household buying a UPS for a television and a bank specifying power infrastructure produces a page that convinces neither.
Platform
Choosing where a site lives determines what it costs to keep fast. That call is made once, usually in the first week, and rarely revisited.
Website design, build and copywriting. We rebuilt bpee.com from a WordPress site into a Webflow site with an integrated online store, and wrote the positioning and page content. SEO and ongoing marketing were not part of this scope.
Speed. The previous WordPress site was slow, and for a company selling uninterrupted power that is a credibility problem as much as a technical one. Webflow gave a CDN-served site with no plugin stack to degrade, which holds performance without an ongoing maintenance retainer.
Yes. It runs Webflow e-commerce, so the product catalogue, cart, orders and store policies sit inside the same site as the enterprise content rather than in a separate shop.
BPE report a Google PageSpeed score above 70 and a load time under four seconds, with a full-width video banner on the homepage. Measuring the live site ourselves, the server responds in about 0.11 seconds and delivers the HTML in 0.23.
Yes — industrial and B2B manufacturing is most of our website work. See our manufacturer website design page for scope and published prices, or the rest of our case studies.
