GEO for a consumer electronics brand: 281K impressions in Google’s AI answers

Intex sells LED TVs, speakers, home appliances and IT accessories, and has traded since 1996. We rebuilt its website and have handled its Amazon creatives, social media, video and SEO. In the three months to September 2026 the site was shown 281K times inside Google’s generative AI features. This is what sits behind that number, and how much of it we can honestly claim.

The shift

Shoppers ask before they browse

Which TV size suits a small room. What wattage a speaker needs for a hall. Whether a washing machine of a given capacity is enough for a family of four. Questions like these used to land on a comparison site. More and more often Google now answers them itself and shows its sources alongside.

For a brand with a wide catalogue, that answer is where the shopper first meets the product.

What we did

The store, and everything around it

The aim was to bring Intex back into conversation with its loyal customers and with a younger audience, and the work has since run across most of the brand’s digital surface. This is the part the site can show, and the part that sits behind the store Search Console is now measuring.

  • One idea across every touchpoint. “Intex for the Generation Next” positions Intex as the brand behind the X-factor of a young, tech-savvy generation. It runs through the website, the marketplace creatives, the social channels and the video.

The communication idea, as it appears across the Intex creatives.
  • The website. We rebuilt it as a store organised by category, so a shopper can reach TVs, speakers, IT accessories or appliances in one click. The homepage carries new launches, top sellers, awards, the blog and the marketplaces where the range is sold.

The Intex homepage: the hero on a laptop, and the full page beside it.
  • Amazon and offer creatives. Product creatives for Amazon, plus offer banners and festive promotions, all in the same visual language as the site.
  • Social media. We made the creatives and ran the channels. Speakers, smartwatches, power banks and accessories were tied to the way young buyers actually use them, with lines such as “Sound that moves with you” and “Charge ahead, stay unstoppable”.

  • Video. Video work for the Cloud TV range, built around what was streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The stills below show the 50 inch LED-5016 UBTR carrying two titles.

  • SEO. Search work on the site ran alongside all of the above.

None of this was done for AI answers as such. What Search Console is measuring is the store as it stands after that work: a catalogue organised by category, product pages that carry price, brand and breadcrumb markup, a blog, and one brand identity across the site, Amazon and social. We cannot say which part matters most, and we would be wary of anyone who claimed to know.

Results

What Search Console shows

The Generative AI features report shows 281K impressions for intex.in over the last three months. The first month ran at about 2,200 a day, with two single-day spikes to roughly 5,600 and 4,100. Early in the second month the line stepped up to between 3,000 and 4,000 and has stayed there. Recent weeks sit at around 3,700.

Google Search Console, intex.in, Generative AI features (Beta). The solid line is the last three months. The dotted line is all the earlier data the report holds.

A step that holds for two months is more convincing than a spike. We do not know precisely what caused it, and we would be guessing if we named one change.

The limits

What the number does not prove

  • 281K against 68.2K is not a fourfold rise. The earlier figure covers about a month, because the report reaches back roughly four months. Day for day, it is about 2,100 then and about 3,050 now, with recent weeks higher.
  • The report gives impressions only. It does not show clicks or orders from AI features.
  • An impression means the site was shown inside an AI feature, not that it was the first source or that the shopper chose it.
  • The two early spikes are single days. We have not counted them as a trend.
  • We did many things for Intex over several years, and this report cannot separate them.

Questions we get asked

About this work

What does the Generative AI features report measure?

How often a site appears inside Google’s generative AI search features. It is a Beta view within Search Console’s Performance report and reports impressions.

What did DigiStreet do for Intex?

We rebuilt the website, made the Amazon product creatives, offer banners and festive promotions, made the social media creatives and ran the social channels, produced video work for the Cloud TV range and handled SEO. It is a broad brand and store engagement, not a single GEO project.

Did Intex’s AI impressions really grow four times?

No. The totals are 281K and 68.2K, but the earlier one is about a month of data. The fair comparison is roughly 2,100 a day then against roughly 3,050 a day now.

Why does a product catalogue suit GEO?

Because it is full of facts. Sizes, capacities, ratings and prices are what an AI answer needs and can attribute. The Intex product pages carry them as text, with price, brand and breadcrumb markup, which is the kind of page an answer can draw on. We would not claim it is the only reason the impressions rose.

Does an AI impression lead to a sale?

The report cannot tell us, so we do not claim it. Orders are tracked in the store, clicks in Search Console’s web report, and AI impressions here. Nothing yet joins them.

Would this work for other electronics and appliance brands?

Probably, where shoppers compare on specifications. It works less well where the product is bought on looks or brand alone.

Selling a catalogue people compare before they buy?

We can check how often your products already appear in AI answers, and what on the page is holding the others back.
